Catherine is a medical doctor who has specialised in pharmaceutical industry medicine since 2007. She qualified from Cambridge University, UK, and worked as a hospital doctor for 6 years prior to joining industry.

Her expertise spans R&D, Medical Statistics, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Pharmacovigilance, and the integration of these disciplines to inform on strategic decisions for product development. Her particular interest lies in the optimisation, substantiation and defence of promotional claims throughout the product lifecycle.

Catherine is an experienced Final Medical Signatory for the ABPI (UK) and Medicines Australia Codes of Practice. She retains a license to practice with the UK’s General Medical Council (UK), with a specialty registration (“board certified”) as a Consultant Pharmaceutical Physician.

Dr Asad Khan

Asad is a consultant (equivalent to Board Certification) Pharmaceutical Physician and brings with him 20+ years of Pharma Industry experience. Over the years, Asad has worked in different sized companies in various national / international functions and roles, in different countries and in variety of therapeutic areas.

His most recent assignment was with a European Speciality Company, where, as their European Medical Director, he was responsible for 9 European Medical teams comprising of more than 50 individuals.

Asad is a Fellow of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) a Chartered Marketer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. Besides Medicine, he has formal qualifications in Marketing, Pharmacovigilance, Law and Health Economics. He is also an Examiner, Educational Supervisor, Appraiser and a member of the Education and Standards Committee for the FPM of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK.

Senior Scientific Advisor

Highly skilled industry pharmacist and senior scientific advisor at My Medical Department. Significant experience in Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, including: compliance review of promotional and educational materials, compliance review of the logistics of advisory board, educational meetings and symposiums using platforms such as Veeva, engaging with KOLs, organising advisory boards. Medical Review of clinical data and data cleaning, Pharmacovigilance including SAE reconciliation,  Clinical Trial Management and literature reviews. He has also been extensively involved as CRS in a phase 3 oncology study where he performed patient reviews, data cleaning and issuing site queries.

During his master’s degree, Mina’s thesis focused on monitoring depression biomarkers in a model of in-vitro IFN-γ differentiated activated THP-1 cells. As part of this thesis, he conducted a literature review in depression focusing on the immune system activation and the involvement of the gut-brain axis in depression and anxiety, allowing him to develop an extensive knowledge on that topic. Mina also continues to retain a part-time clinical role as a practising pharmacist looking after community and nursing home patients. He is part of a team that manages a wide array of neurological conditions which include but not limited to Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety, psychosis and cerebral palsy. He is involved in clinical review of patient medications ensuring that they are safe and appropriate for each patient.

Daniel Ackerley
Scientific Advisor

Daniel is a skilled Industry pharmacist, scientific advisor and data safety scientist at My Medical Department. Clinical trials experience at MMD includes reviewing job bags as part of a MLR team within Veeva for a digital therapeutics clinical trial, project management / CRS for a hematology digital device clinical trial conducted in the USA and running data cleaning activities for a large hematology clinical trial with over 500 enrolled patients in either the USA or Germany (medical data cleaning, protocol deviation identification, query management).

As part of the Master of Pharmacy program he completed a research thesis based on antipsychotic side-effects in children. Due to the lack of research in this demographic he conducted a literature review and began to develop patient information leaflets to fill the gap in research. This research involved working with the Children’s youth and Mental health service, pharmacy department from the Queensland Children’s Hospital, various child psychiatrists and a variety of other professionals from the paediatric obesity working group. He developed a patient friendly information leaflet that also targeted poor literature families and to provide education seminars for healthcare practitioners in the children’s hospital to improve healthcare outcomes in this demographic.
